Our Top Dive Sites at Marsa Alam Dive Center
Elphinstone Reef
A 375m off-shore reef with drop-offs over 100m, ranked among the top ten dive sites globally. It hosts an array of soft corals and diverse sea life. The reef's constant current, particularly over the northern and southern plateaus, attracts several shark species, with specific species' presence changing seasonally.
Dolphin House
(Sha’ab Samadai)
An offshore reef with a lagoon housing a pod of Spinner Dolphins. The lagoon typically offers excellent visibility for scuba diving or snorkeling. The site is home to swim-through beautiful drop-offs, and several pinnacles with great coral formations, making it suitable for all diving levels.
Abu Dabbab (Turtles Bay)
Famous for its rare and endangered Dugongs, Abu Dabbab is one of the most renowned diving sites in the Red Sea. The site also hosts friendly giant Green Sea Turtles, unusual Guitar Sharks, and fascinating macro subjects such as the Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Thorny Seahorse, and Hairy Pygmy pipe horse.
Fury Shoals (Sataya Reef)
A system of reefs extending from the coast into the Red Sea, offers diverse diving experiences, from shallow, sheltered dives to wall diving, fast drifts, and even a few caves and wrecks. The area is known for sightings of hammerhead sharks.
SHA'AB Marsa Alam
A boat dive site, featuring a central lagoon with pillars covered in soft corals, attracting various reef fish species. Depending on divers' skills, the site offers a calm dive in the lagoon or a drift dive on the north side.
Shipwreck (SS. HAMADA)
The remains of a coastal cargo vessel offer a unique diving experience. Parts of the wreck are shallow enough to snorkel, while the more intact sections can be explored by qualified divers. The wreck is home to various marine life, including napoleons, lionfish, parrotfish, surgeonfish, butterfly fish, and moray eels
